Educational Toys

It is rare to find a parent without at least some interest in fostering the early cognitive development in his or her child. Educational toys are designed to do exactly that, while at the same time remaining entertaining. There are many toys with educational benefits. Which one is best for your child will depend on his or her specific interests.

Educational toys are available for children of all ages. Common preschooler toys include simple jigsaw puzzles, construction toys, and building blocks. For older children, certain board games and card games can help practice math abilities, for example.

Some of these toys are straightforward in their approach. A book about dinosaurs, for example, will obviously be informative if read by a child. However, something like a construction kit or a set of building blocks would also count as an educational toy because of the way it develops a child’s spatial awareness and fosters creativity.
