Building Toys

Building toys can be the most fun toys available for some children. Additionally, these toys offer the benefits of encouraging logical thinking and spatial awareness, improving hand-eye coordination, and fostering creativity. As with most puzzles, building toys often afford the satisfaction of having completed something successfully. 

Probably the most rudimentary building toy is the simple building block. From a very young age, children enjoy stacking these blocks, seeing how high they can stack them, and learning what causes them to tumble.

Building toys come in a variety of makes and models, depending on the age and capabilities of your child. For example, since toddlers probably cannot produce a model building from scratch, it might be best to provide something which has a base already resembling the object (whether that object be a building, a car, or a ship). That way, children can just attach the necessary pieces to the existing object.
